Centers of excellence It is not enough to identify potential leaders; we need to cultivate their talents once they are here. The Centers of Excellence at Villanova University School of Law stimulate students' intellectual growth in specialty areas of practice. These Centers position Villanova as a thought-leader on laws and public policies in their related fields. They provide comprehensive scholarship for students through symposia, on-site speakers, dedicated journals, clinics, targeted externships and modules that hone skills in these areas. Each spring the Jeffrey S. Moorad Center for the Study of Sports law hosts the Sports Law Symposium, attracting industry leaders as guest speakers and garnering national attention for its topical discussions. The John F. Scarpa Center for law and entrepreneurship convenes lawyers and businesspeople who are at the top of their fields into our classrooms to share their knowledge and experiences. The newly established David F. and Constance B. Girard-diCarlo Center for ethics, integrity and Compliance infuses vital ethical discussion into the legal landscape, preparing our graduates for the complexities they will face throughout their careers. The soon-to-launch Center for law and religion will build upon our Augustinian Catholic heritage, exploring the intersection of these two cornerstones of society. The Villanova law institute to address Commercial Sexual exploitation seeks to educate and provide technical assistance to those who respond to commercial sexual exploitation in Pennsylvania and to promote victim-centered, multidisciplinary collaboration. These specialty Centers set Villanova University School of Law apart from our competitors and attract students from around the country who are inspired to thoroughly explore these important subjects. 10 for these centers to flourish, we must provide a continuous flow of resources that enables faculty and students to uncover new insights and present their expertise to the world. The Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Symposium tackles the day's hottest topics from concussions and player safety to franchise management.
